AI receptionist for electricians: 7 options and what they cost
An electrician on a ladder with both hands in a panel can't answer the phone. The caller with a dead circuit or a quote request for an EV charger calls the next shop on the list. An AI receptionist picks up, asks the right questions, and books the job or sends you the details.
This guide covers seven tools whose own websites name electricians, electrical work, or an electrical customer. Prices come from each vendor's pricing page on October 23, 2026. For the full list, see AI receptionists for electrical businesses and the electrical tools page.
What an electrical shop needs from an AI receptionist
Write down how your calls work before you compare prices. Most electrical contractors need these five things:
- Safety screening. A caller who reports sparks, smoke, a burning smell, or a hot panel needs a safety line first, then a fast transfer. Write that script yourself and test it. Don't let the AI improvise on safety.
- Job type sorting. Service calls, panel upgrades, EV charger installs, generator quotes, and new construction bids each need different questions. Give the AI a short intake for each.
- Booking into your software. If you run Jobber, Housecall Pro, or ServiceTitan, ask whether the receptionist writes the job into it or sends you a message to enter by hand.
- Service area and trip fee rules. Decide what the AI may say about trip charges and estimates. Give it your exact wording.
- After-hours rules. Set what happens at night: book for tomorrow, transfer to the on-call electrician, or take a message.

What 100 calls a month costs
Pull last month's call log first. This is the math for a shop with 100 calls a month at 3 minutes each, which is 300 minutes:
| Tool and plan | What it includes | Monthly cost for 100 calls |
|---|---|---|
| Dialzara Business Pro | 220 minutes, then $0.45 a minute | $135 ($99 plus 80 minutes at $0.45, which is $36) |
| Rosie Scale | 1,000 minutes | $149 |
| Dialzara Business Plus | 500 minutes | $199 |
| Smith.ai Pro (75-call tier) | 75 calls, then $2.50 a call | $212.50 ($150 plus 25 calls at $2.50, which is $62.50) |
| Sameday AI Launch | 500 minutes | $449 |
A smaller shop with 40 calls a month on the Smith.ai Free plan pays $45 (15 calls past the free 25, at $3.00 each). Check what each plan counts as a call or a minute, since spam and wrong numbers can count.
