Which field service apps work with ChatGPT and Claude?

Many trades owners use ChatGPT or Claude to write quotes, answer emails, and plan the week. The next question is simple: can the AI see your jobs, clients, and invoices, or do you copy and paste all day? The answer depends on the software you run. This guide covers what Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, and a few receptionist tools say on their own pages, checked October 17, 2026.

Three ways an AI tool can reach your business data

An official connector. The software company builds a link that ChatGPT or Claude can use. You sign in, approve access, and the AI can read or create records inside the limits the vendor sets. This is the cleanest option.
An automation tool in the middle. Zapier, Make, or n8n move data between your software and an AI step. You build the workflow. It works with any app that has a Zapier or API connection, but each workflow needs setup and testing. See automation tools compared.
Copy and paste. You export a report or paste a work order into the chat. It costs nothing and needs no setup, but the AI cannot see live data or write any records.

Jobber: official connector for ChatGPT and Claude

Jobber publishes a help article titled "Connect Jobber to Claude and ChatGPT," last updated October 1, 2026. It says:

Plans: the connector is available on all Core, Connect, Grow, and Plus plans. Core starts at $29 a month on annual billing (>Jobber pricing).
AI accounts: you need an active Claude or ChatGPT account. Jobber says both platforms' free plans work with the connector.
What the AI can look up: clients, properties, requests, quotes, jobs, and invoices.
What the AI can create or edit: requests, clients, and properties.
Quotes: the AI can create quotes but not edit them afterward. Quotes made this way include a total, deposit, and discount, but not unit costs or margins.
What it cannot do: create or edit jobs or invoices, delete or archive records, or change your schedule.

Setup runs through the Jobber App Marketplace. You open the Claude or ChatGPT connector, sign in to Jobber, and approve access. Jobber's examples include "Show me all quotes still awaiting response" and turning a work order email into a request.

One warning from the same article: Jobber blocks automated browser agents, including the built-in browser tools in ChatGPT and Claude, from signing in to Jobber the way a person does. Use the connector, not a browser agent.

Jobber sells its own AI features. Its pricing page lists Jobber AI Voice, Jobber AI Chat, and an AI Receptionist add-on at $29 a month. See Jobber AI receptionist cost and the Jobber listing. The connector has its own listing: Jobber AI connector.

Housecall Pro: Zapier and an open API on MAX

Housecall Pro's pricing page FAQ says the software integrates with QuickBooks, Google, and Thumbtack, and that "our MAX plan offers access to Zapier and our open API." MAX lists at $299 a month on annual billing for 8 users. Its integrations page lists Zapier.

We did not find a ChatGPT or Claude connector on Housecall Pro's pricing or integrations pages on October 17, 2026. That means the AI route for most Housecall Pro shops is Zapier or a custom build on the API, both of which need the MAX plan.

Housecall Pro does sell its own AI. The pricing page lists CSR AI, which it says answers every call and chat, day or night. The page does not show a CSR AI price. See the Housecall Pro listing and Jobber vs Housecall Pro for HVAC.

ServiceTitan: its own AI products, prices on request

ServiceTitan's pricing page shows three packages (Starter, Essentials, The Works) with "Request Pricing" on each. The same page lists Titan Intelligence and an AI Virtual Agent among its Pro products. We found no public ChatGPT or Claude connector on that page. If you run ServiceTitan, ask your rep in writing which outside AI tools the account allows, and at what cost.

Receptionist tools that talk to ChatGPT and Claude

Some AI receptionists connect to the AI assistants themselves. Upfirst's site says it "works with ChatGPT and Claude" and that you can "set up your receptionist by talking to ChatGPT or Claude." Its menu lists an AI Receptionist MCP, the protocol many AI assistants use to call outside tools. Its integrations page lists Zapier, Make, Google Calendar, Outlook, Calendly, and Acuity Scheduling. Upfirst's Starter plan is $24.95 a month for 30 calls on monthly billing (>Upfirst pricing).

How to pick a setup

You run Jobber: connect it to the ChatGPT or Claude account you have. Start with read-only questions ("What quotes are open?") before you let it create records.
You run Housecall Pro on Basic or Essentials: copy and paste is your route unless you move to MAX. Price that upgrade against the time you would save.
You run Housecall Pro on MAX: build one Zapier workflow, such as new job request to AI summary to text alert, and test it for a week.
You run ServiceTitan: get the answer on outside AI access in writing before you build anything.
Any software: do not paste card numbers, gate codes, or alarm codes into a chat tool.

FAQ

Does Jobber work with the free version of ChatGPT? Yes. Jobber's help article says the free plans of both ChatGPT and Claude work with the Jobber connector.

Can ChatGPT create invoices in Jobber? No. Per Jobber's help article, the connector cannot create or edit jobs or invoices.

Does Housecall Pro have a ChatGPT integration? We found no ChatGPT or Claude connector on its pricing or integrations pages on October 17, 2026. Its MAX plan includes Zapier and an open API.

Is it safe to give an AI tool access to my customer list? Grant the smallest access that does the job, start with read-only questions, and review what the AI creates. Jobber's connector page lets you pick which tools Claude can use in your account.
