SignalWire pricing (2026)

Short answer. SignalWire sells an AI Agent runtime at $0.16 a minute. The page says it covers speech to text, the LLM, and standard text to speech. Calls are billed on top. A US local call costs $0.0066 a minute inbound and $0.0080 a minute outbound. A local number costs $0.50 a month. SignalWire says most customers pay about $0.163 to $0.168 a minute all in. By our math, the runtime plus a local inbound minute is $0.1666 a minute. 1,000 minutes cost $166.60, or $167.10 with one local number. That sits inside SignalWire's own range.

Conflict: is standard TTS included?

The page gives two answers. One footnote says "Standard TTS is included in the $0.16/min runtime." The "What's Included" list says TTS playback is billed at cost. A second footnote on the 20,000-minute example cites standard TTS playback at about $0.008 a minute passthrough. Ask SignalWire which applies to your account before you budget.

Text to speech outside the AI runtime

SignalWire prices text to speech per character in five tiers. Economy is $0.000008 a character and Standard is $0.0001. Standard covers voices like OpenAI tts-1, Deepgram Aura-1, ElevenLabs Flash, and Cartesia Sonic. Premium and Pro cost more.

SignalWire's own example

SignalWire compares 20,000 minutes a month on its runtime with a "DIY stack" of Vapi, Deepgram, OpenAI, ElevenLabs, and a SIP carrier. It shows $3,260 for SignalWire and $2,600 in hard cost for the DIY stack. It then adds $2,000+ a month of dev and ops time and $500+ of overages to the DIY side, for a $5,100+ total. Those add-ons are SignalWire's estimate, not list prices. On hard cost alone, the DIY stack in SignalWire's own table costs less.

Is SignalWire a fit for a trades shop?
